The Lost Ones Basement Bar is in need of stellar kitchen staff. Are you tired of serving up the same steaks, parmas, pizzas and chips? We’ve introduced Ballarat to incredible old-world European inspired dishes to share.
While chef qualifications are not necessary, we need staff who have minimum 2 years experience in a busy commerical kitchen and meet the following criteria;
– Proactive (will jump in and help as needed with minimal direction)
– Knife skills and ideally have own knives
– Impeccable presentation when plating dishes
– Can follow direction from our Head Chef and work autonomously
– Are creative with good knowledge of food and flavours
– Know their way around a commercial kitchen (please don’t apply if you have no experience)
– Won’t shirk at hard work (we have high expectations for our staff, and reward them accordingly)
– Well organized and a clean worker
– Knowledge of food preservation, pickling, preserving and charcuterie highly regarded
This position would suit someone wanting to get back into the hospitality industry, perhaps returning from maternity leave. Shifts will vary from 2-4 per week (approx. 8-20 hours, possibly more for the right applicant), evenings only.

Dinner Service and functions
Plating of dishes
Staying well organized and tidy
Researching new ideas and assisting the Chef in his experiments

AS WE MOVE INTO OUR PEAK SEASON OF SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
